Workflow trigger types
A trigger decides when a HubSpot record enters a Kanopee workflow. Current triggers cover record creation, property/stage changes, schedules and form submissions.
What a trigger does
A trigger is the starting condition for a Kanopee workflow.
When a matching HubSpot event or scheduled occurrence is detected, Kanopee evaluates the published workflow and creates a workflow run for the matching record.
The available trigger list depends on the workflow's object type and your plan.
Record-created triggers
Kanopee provides object-specific creation triggers for:
- Contact created
- Company created
- Deal created
- Ticket created
These triggers apply to records created after the workflow is published and active. They do not backfill historical records simply because those records already exist.
Property and stage change triggers
Change-based triggers include:
- Property value changed
- Lifecycle stage changed
- Lead status changed
- Deal stage changed; and
- Ticket stage changed.
You choose the relevant property, stage or value rule. These triggers respond to changes after the workflow is published rather than treating all existing matching records as new events.
Scheduled triggers
A Scheduled trigger is useful when you want Kanopee to periodically find records matching criteria rather than wait for a specific HubSpot change event.
Schedules can use frequency, time, timezone and enrollment criteria. Scheduled triggers are currently available on Pro.
Form submission triggers
Form submission is available for Contact workflows on Pro.
Choose the HubSpot form that should enroll contacts. Kanopee needs the form in its synced metadata, so run a HubSpot sync if the form is not available in the picker.
Only submissions detected while the workflow binding is active should be expected to create new enrollments; historical form activity is not a general backfill mechanism.
