Simple mode and Advanced mode
Simple mode exposes the key controls for supported template processes; Advanced mode exposes the full workflow graph.
What Simple mode is
Some Kanopee templates package a multi-step workflow into a simpler configuration experience.
In Simple mode, you work with the settings the process is designed to expose—for example timing, owner choices, escalation settings or other template-specific values—without having to manage each underlying branch, delay and action separately.
Internally, the process still expands into normal workflow steps when it is published.
What Advanced mode is
Choose Advanced mode when you want full control over the workflow graph.
You can inspect and edit the underlying:
- trigger
- branch logic
- delays
- HubSpot actions; and
- connections between workflow nodes.
Advanced mode is useful when a template is close to what you need but you want to alter the actual process rather than only its intended high-level settings.
Which mode should you choose?
A good rule is:
Choose Simple if you mainly want to fill in the template's intended values and get the workflow running.
Choose Advanced if you need to add, remove, reorder or substantially change workflow steps.
Both modes ultimately produce executable Kanopee workflow logic; the difference is how much of that logic you edit directly.
Switching between modes
Where Kanopee shows the mode switch, you can inspect the template in a more detailed form.
Be cautious after making manual changes in Advanced mode. Once the underlying graph no longer matches the process definition expected by Simple mode, Kanopee may not be able to represent those custom changes through the simplified controls.
If you know you will need substantial customization, install or continue in Advanced mode.
